The best of the mind mappers I have found on the App store so far. Downside is that it does not import standard mind mapper/outliner formats. Also, there is a bug that makes is hard to create new files.

Really easy to create diagrams. Quick. Intuitive. But save frequently because it freezes often during your work.

Im a nursing student and I use this app for concept mapping. Its so useful and organizes my ideas perfectly! My concern is that this app ALWAYS shuts down on me, at least once an hour! This often causes me to lose unsaved work! Hopefully it gets fixed with the next update. Also its pretty expensive for what it is.. Other than that, great app.

Works great, Ive always used inspiration for mind mapping but it doesnt mention in the description that after spending 35$ on the computer program youre going to have to spend an additional 10$ in order to transfer files to and from your iPad. A little frustrating in that sense, there should be a code that makes you eligible for the ipad version if youve already bought the computer program.

The best thing about this software is the Outline View. It gives you a nice hierarchal document of your mind map. The rest is clunky and obtuse. The iPad version is so much better, and so much easier to use in comparison. Funny that the mobile version is better than the desktop program? Not funny at all. Look at any other integrated solutions to invest your money in.

Its been two years since Apple announced these features. They are "Must have" features because it saves so much time and unclutters the mind. As an end user ANY software that doesnt have these features feels like 90"s software and most importantly is less productive. Ive used this software on and off since the beginning and it serves a great purpose. Some apps come close like MindNode. If Mindnode had the Arrange feature Id keep using it. It works seamlessly across all my apple devices effortlessly but missing some essential feature Inspiration has (outline, Arrange Feature, Linking). The Arrange feature is an excellent time saver. Please focus on bringing this product into the latest feature set Apple has encouraged. You will sell more packages. Do other agree? Please voice here to help this company focus their efforts on the right feature set.

I started using Inspiration software more than 10 years ago. Without question, it was and is the best mind mapping software available. Unfortunately, the Inpiration folks have usually billed it as something for the educational market. The secret is that it is useful for EVERYONE! Its easy to use, has lots of nifty graphics, and can be used to create your next (business) presentation. At this low price, you gotta get this software.

I have been a fan of Inspiration for a long time. I have used it in the classroom and for online courses. It is a great presentation/teaching mindmapping tool! The ability to put post-it style notes on the board and the instant add option are both great features you just dont see in other mind mapping apps. I was sad when my Windows machine died and I couldnt use Inspiration on my new Mac. Now I have it on my Mac! I used it for a class I taught this past week and everyone asked me what program I was using. It just works so well!

I have been using this software since about 1998. It continues to be the best visual mapping software I have ever used. I have used it for countless projects including concept mapping while in med school, decision algorithms for complex problems, simple flowcharts for presentations, mapping out my life choices, and a whole host of other uses. As some have stated, it is marketed toward teachers, but its use far exceeds the classroom. It is the easiest to use, most powerful, and the least expensive software of this kind. This marks maybe the 3rd time I have purchased this software in 15 years or so. Each version will work for you for at least 5 years. The only reason I bought the mac version again was due to Apple no longer supporting pre-intel software, otherwise my old version would have kept working, as it has on my PC. I just had a big project where it would be much easier to use the mac version, so I upgraded. This company also makes an iPad version of this software which is pretty cool too. Not sure about how interoperable it is with the desktop version though. Still need to experiement with that. I doubt you will be dissapointed with this software, it is inexpensive, powerful and useful for many kinds of projects.

Beware. When updating to Mavericks, your Inspriation software will crash over and over again. It is highly frustrating, especially when you lose your work. I’m hoping that the update will come out soon, but it seems to be taking forever. If you do not update to Mavericks, Inspiration works like a charm, so if this program is important to you, wait to update your operating system until they have come up with an update.

I used this as a teacher to help my kids learn flow structure for writing; I use it myself to plan software I am writing and also book flow for textbooks I am writing. It is the best out there. My kids in school (gifted though they were) loved its ease of use and ability to jump from a flow sheet to an outline and back.

Usefull in english but wont work in other languages. Fonts will noy display properly. Older versions worked but not the new.

All the icons and fonts are pixelated and very hard to read. I can’t imagine a presentation would look good on screen. Is there a way to fix this?

This application crashes all of the time on OS X.
